Vandal Resistant

The term “Vandal Resistant” is used by many luminaire manufacturers to define a category of lighting products that are designed for use in abusive environments. However, when tested these seemingly robust luminaires fall short in their intended capabilities. The two most common ways to vandalize a luminaire are impact and prying. Luminaires placed in abusive environments come under attack with objects such as pipes, baseball bats, sticks, rocks, crowbars, etc. Our line of round and linear vandal resistant products feature a Supplemental Impact System (SIS) which is an integral air cushion feature that absorbs shock upon impact up to 100 joules of impact force. Our round products are also able to withstand up to 600 lbs. of pry-off force.
